Your Best Friend

She is conceited and she shows it, she doesn’t let it hide from anybody, but nobody cares to notice. She preys on the innocent and the guilty. You’d better hide all your insecurities, or you’ll regret telling her anything. She stalks the halls with an ever-present smile that makes an outsider feel welcome. Although, to those that know her the smile hides every little flaw, but don’t you dare point that out to her.

She’ll make you feel special, like you belong, but don’t you get too close because as soon as she wants something she will turn on you. Neither friendship nor relationships mean anything to her. Everyone is disposable, but if she wants them, back all she has to do is snap her fingers… or throw a fit and it’s hers. There are times you’ll wonder how she does it, no matter how hard you try you’ll never be like her, well here’s a word of advice, you don’t want to be like her.

There is something too charming about her. Maybe it’s her self-confidence, maybe it’s her name, how talented or pretty she knows she is. Whatever it is, it pulls you in. At first, you hate her, but kindness seeps through her pours but please don’t believe it for a moment. It’s deceiving and manipulative she can make you do almost anything, but there will be one day when you have had enough. Although you really want to see her go down in flames, you can’t because you aren’t that kind of friend. So please for your sake, save yourself don’t even fall into her trap.

You will find, while being her friend, she will make a mistake that she regrets; she’ll try to fix it no matter how many pieces it has shattered into. She’ll then tell you that she’s at peace with it. You’ll finally relax and feel as though everything is okay; your friendship will be safe after all! However, that’s when you are most vulnerable, so here’s a warning, don’t let your guard down at any point in time… remember the warning about telling her your insecurities.

She will use all of your insecurities you have against you, and at the most inconvenient times… remember that guy you like that she thinks is attractive? Yeah, don’t let her know you think you can’t sing. Remember that guy that she used to hold hands with, the one that she used to invite to the movie nights while you sat with your best friend? I bet you remember how you lost him and she got him. Don’t remind her that you started the drama two years ago, and you’d better gain weight too because she’ll use that against you.

Lies spread quickly, but they end just as fast. You just have to have the right people on your side, all those who know the difference between the truths you know and the lies she is spreading. Someone who is willing to stand up to her needs to be on your side, someone you know will defend you needs to be on your side, someone who knows her… needs to be on your side or you will never win the battle.

You are probably wondering, who would do such a thing to you? Well it is usually the person who knows you the best, the one person you thought you could trust, whether it was two years ago or two minutes ago (remember she can turn on you before you even know it). This person will show up in your life, she will compliment you, tell you all you want to hear. She will make you feel special, and wanted, talented and beautiful, when in reality she is your worst enemy. Who would do such a think you ask?

Everything points to one person it's the person that knows everything about you, what makes you tick. She knows the buttons to push, and how hard to push them until you break. She knows what to say to make you forgive her, she knows every little thing about you. You put your trust in her because she was that one you could trust... can you think of nobody else except for...
